Boracay Island, the majestic beach destination in the Philippines, received the prime spot in TripAdvisor’s “Top 25 Best Beaches in Asia.”
The bottom four contenders of the list are Agonda Beach (India), Railay Beach (Thailand), Radhanagar Beach (Havelock Island), and Phra Nang Beach (Thailand).
Boracay Island was selected because of its premier White Beach location and its pristine waters that have always been the top choice of foreigners. TripAdvisor has also stated in the list that it is best to go to Boracay from December to May.
TripAdvisor has also listed the top 129 hotels that tourists can choose from for their stay on Boracay. Among the hotels listed are Shangri-La, Discovery Shores, Dave’s Straw Hat Inn, Island Jewel Inn, Boracay Beach Club, Monaco Suites, and The District Boracay.
Aside from beaches, Boracay Island is also known for its variety of diving spots, ranging from moderate to professional. The famous diving sites in Boracay are Balinghai, Punta Bunga, Tulobhan, and the Bat Cave. All of these have respective rates and diving packages.
Back in 2012, Boracay was named as the world’s no.1 island in Travel+Leisure.
“The world’s best island, I confess to never having heard of it in the Philippines,” Willie Geist, host of The Today Show, stated.
The other island destinations that have made it in the list are Bali, Galapagos, Maui, Great Barrier Reef, Santorini, Kauai, Big Island, Sicily, and Vancouver Island.
